Our Thoughts On Batman: Arkham Origins

So, at the FanExpo at the weekend I got to have a shot of the New Batman game Arkham Origins for the PS3 and I just have to say, it will be worth the wait.

It is a phenomenal game; I can’t provide a full review for it as I only played it for a short while but the graphics are stunning, with fluid animation and great attention to detail. I loved how if you leave Batman for a moment he cracks his neck, like he’s preparing for a fight. His cape billows in the wind and there’s such a great sense of scale to the 3D graphics.

In terms of weapons, Batman is now equipped with shock gloves. These are used to defend against electrical attacks such as guard batons. You can absorb the shock from enemies and then use it back to crush your enemies and listen to the lamentations of their women.

I love the remote control Batarang too, although I did find that it took a while to get used to using the controls, but like everything else practice makes perfect. One of the many villains of this game Deathstroke, one of the coolest bust also most underused of all the Batmovillains. I would love to see him in a live action Batman movie one of these days, even as a supporting villain.

There is also a new villain called Firefly who is armed with a flamethrower; he was apparently in some of the Batman comics but I have to admit that I haven’t heard of him before.

You also get Black Mask who is a personal favourite villain of mine and another one who deserves a live action outing.

I found Arkham Origins to be incredibly atmospheric with some moody music too; the music to all the Arkham games has been really epic sounding, adding to the scope of the game. I got into it really quickly and found myself completely immersed in the world of Gotham. It feels like an interactive movie and it just might tempt me into finally buying a console.
