Legends of Action: Michelle Rodriguez

BirthDate: July 12, 1978

I often wonder why there are not more female action stars, then I sit back and think “Hold on! Michelle Rodriguez!”

She is arguably one of the best female action stars of all time with several big budget franchises under her belt: Resident Evil, Machete, and the biggest one The Fast & the Furious.

She also had a role in the underrated Battle: Los Angeles, which I stand by as an entertaining alien invasion flick.

Although her character died in Avatar, Rodriguez was one of the best things about the movie and she always brings an authenticity to all of her roles.

She is great at playing tough characters with a good heart and she isn’t exactly hard to look at either.

When she plays a villain, you utterly believe it and she’s great at kicking ass.

Michelle comes across as modest in real life, always having time for her fans. According to Entertainment Weekly, a fan came up to her recently for a quick photo and she said “Sure, let’s do this”. She then complimented the guy on his muscles and posed for the shot.

It’s always nice when actors treat their fans with respect as without them their career means nothing. If only her agent were more accommodating when asked for interviews…

Michelle Rodriguez’s most iconic character is Letty from the Fast & Furious series. She’s a girl who just won’t stay dead and when she appeared in THAT photo at the end of Fast Five, I still remember the collective gasp from audiences.

She is key to the series and without her Dom just isn’t as interesting. She’s his soul mate and they genuinely complete each other. Wow, that sounded lame, but you know what I mean.

Anyway, one of the many great things about Rodriguez is that she is giving audiences a Latina Action Hero, which is something we haven’t seen much of before.

She’s got the looks, the talent and the acting ability to make any movie watchable and proves that you don’t need to be a musclebound guy to be a complete badass.
