Terminator Genisys: Rise of the Box Office

Terminator Genisys didn’t exactly set the box office on fire in North America with a pretty measly $89 million.

With a budget of $150 million you’d think that the franchise would be dead in the water.

Then we take a look at the international box office, namely China; it stormed the box office and is on its way to making $100 million there alone which will take the entire worldwide earnings well above the current $409 million.

The film has now become a bit of a smash hit proving that the international market is where the real box office is these days.

The Terminator brand clearly still has a lot of pull around the world and I’m actually pleased to see Arnold have a hit considering most of his movies since his comeback have not been particularly huge (aside from The Expendables movies).

Whether we will get another Terminator movie remains to be seen but I think if Genisys ends up making $500 million worldwide then he will indeed be back again.
