Proof of Concept Film: Ayamé

Filmmaker Conor Maloney contacted us about his new proof of concept film entitled Ayamé featuring John Hurt and Laura Graham.

Plot: An impending disaster looms. Facing total extinction, a military operation turns to the stars in order to relocate the entire human race. During the exodus, one man is sent to rescue his former comrade after she mysteriously disappears while executing a covert operation off world.

Conor’s approach was to produce a small “proof of concept” piece to show what the film could be.

He describes it as “a self financed production by using a life insurance policy my parents had been paying into for me.

With the help of my producer, I managed to make contact with John Hurt, who was eager and willing to get involved and lend his voice to the final piece.”

It was filmed in Ardmore Studios over 3 days and shot on Red One before the legendary Irish post production house Windmill Lane came on board to handle all of the VFX and grading.

I must say I love the whole idea of proof of concepts and I’m pretty sure that Ayamé will get turned into a full feature in no time. Conor Maloney is definitely someone to watch.
