John Wick: The TV Series?

We all know that Chapter 3 of the John Wick saga is already in development but now there may also be a prequel TV series coming our way.

At a recent press event for John Wick: Chapter 2 Chad Stahelski discussed the possibility stating “Well, we’re not doing a prequel [with Chapter 2]. We wanted to, it just didn’t fit quite where we’re at….We basically almost have a prequel written, but we’d save that for other aspects of the property. Lionsgate is very interested in doing a John Wick TV show, and that seems very appealing to us, to give those creative ideas to that entity, because I think in TV you could really expand on what that is, and greater than we could in just a two-hour film. We’d like to wrap-up the story we’re telling now and maybe save all our prequel ideas and impossible task ideas for that medium.”

I would love a series based on The Continental as I’ve said all along. Also, is it just me or is John Wick the best action movie character of the past decade? He’s and invincible badass, the fight scenes are stylish (and most importantly coherent) and the crew behind the movie/character understand the genre so well. I’m happy for this series to go on as long as Keanu is involved.
